Advancing Coarse Slime Separation Beyond Conventional Technologies
TCS® is a liquid–solid fluidized bed separator widely applied in coarse slime coal separation, mineral processing, desliming, and tailings recovery. It operates based on the principles of fluidization and hindered settling, where particles with different densities and sizes exhibit different settling velocities. High-density particles settle through the suspension layer formed by water and intermediate-density particles, while low-density particles rise with the upward flow. This difference in settling behavior enables efficient separation of valuable products from waste materials.
The mineral slurry is fed from the top of cylindrical vessel and met by evenly distributed upward water, thus generating an autogenous medium with certain density. The lower density particles will rise and go to the overflow stream, while the higher density particles will settle and discharge through the underflow stream. The density of the suspension bed can be precisely controlled by adjusting the underflow discharge rate.
Underflow discharge is achieved by using variable-frequency pumps and stable pressure flushing water instead of traditional bell-shaped valves, ensuring continuous and stable discharging velocity. A mechanical interference device provides secondary disturbance, eliminate the sedimentation of coarse particles at the bottom and enhancing bed stability. Install a constant-pressure water supply system to ensure stable pressure for overflow water and underflow discharge flushing water. This process enables precise density control, intelligent adjustment, and a stable, fully automated separation environment.
By integrating advanced sensing, stable fluidization control, and intelligent automation technologies, the TCS® Intelligent Coarse Slime Separator upgrades traditional teetered-bed separation technology, enhancing separation accuracy, processing capacity, and operational stability for coarse slime coal processing.
Designed for particles ranging from 1.5 to 0.15 mm, TCS® supports a wide range of density separation applications and delivers improved performance compared with conventional teetered-bed separators, spirals, and water-medium cyclones.
