Project Background
Tajik-China Mining Co., one of Tajikistan’s largest mining enterprises, operates a complete mining value chain covering exploration, mining, beneficiation, and smelting. However, due to low ore grades and extreme temperature conditions ranging from -35°C to +40°C, its beneficiation plant faced challenges including high grinding loads, increased processing costs, and unstable equipment performance.
Before cooperating with MeiTeng, the mine had introduced similar sensor-based sorting equipment in 2023 for waste rock rejection and ore upgrading. However, the system failed to achieve continuous and stable operation, limiting its expected benefits.
MeiTeng Solution
In 2025, MeiTeng introduced its XRT intelligent sorting technology and deployed three XRT units for 70–30mm and 30–10mm ore sorting applications. Through detailed process analysis, equipment optimization, and technical support, MeiTeng successfully improved sorting stability and restored the performance of the existing sorting system.
During trial operation, MeiTeng’s XRT systems achieved a cumulative waste rejection rate of 14.83%, while maintaining Pb+Zn grades in tailings at approximately 0.4%. All key technical indicators exceeded project expectations.
Following successful commissioning, MeiTeng was authorized to provide ongoing operation and maintenance support for all XRT systems at the site.
Project Value
The project helped Tajik-China Mining reduce grinding pressure, lower processing costs, and improve resource utilization by removing waste rock before downstream processing. It also demonstrated the effectiveness of sensor-based sorting technology in complex mining environments with challenging ore conditions and harsh climates.
