How MeiTeng From China Rescued a Failing XRT Project in Tajikistan – and Is Now Expanding Across Central Asia

In March 2026, Tianjin Meiteng Technology Co., Ltd. , a leading intelligent mining sorting service provider from China completed the trial operation of sorting system for Tajik-China Mining Co. in Tajikistan, successfully putting five XRT systems into production.

Tajik-China Mining Co., one of Tajikistan’s largest mining enterprises, has a full industrial chain covering metal exploration, mining, beneficiation, and smelting. Producing about 50% of the country’s mining output, it is also Asia’s largest lead producer. However, due to low ore grades and extreme local temperatures (ranging from -35°C to +40°C), its beneficiation plant has long faced challenges such as high grinding mill loads, high processing costs, and insufficient equipment stability.

Prior to working with Meiteng Technology, Tajik-China Mining had introduced similar sensor-based sorting technology and equipments in 2023 to recover high-grade ore from waste rock, but they failed to run continuously and stably. In 2025, Tajik-China Mining reintroduced three XRT units from Meiteng Technology to sort ore in the 70-30mm and 30-10mm size fractions. After trial operation began in October 2025, the cumulative waste rejection rate reached 14.83%, while the Pb+Zn grade in the tailings was consistently controlled at around 0.4%. All technical indicators exceeded design expectations, earning high recognition from Tajik-China Mining. Meiteng also upgraded and retrofitted the previously  sensor-based sorting equipments, helping restore normal production. With the authorization, Meiteng has now taken over the operation and maintenance of all XRT units.
